Led technical implementation of the Uganda Martyrs University website redesign as part of a small development team, working closely with the PRO office as primary client contact. Built the site on WordPress with the Astra theme, developing custom CSS for the mega menu, hero Cover blocks, staff card styling, TablePress tables, and a mobile off-canvas menu. Developed several custom WordPress plugins including a UMU Team plugin, a UMU Hostels Directory plugin with custom post type permalink fixes, and a UMU FAQ Accordion plugin.
Earlier work on the project included a full UX audit of the existing site, competitive navbar/mega-menu benchmarking against Nkumba University and other global universities, and homepage/about-us content blueprinting as part of a three-person redesign team. Later phases involved populating faculty and campus pages with real content (replacing placeholders), fitting raw content into precise word-count slots across page templates, resolving pre-launch technical issues (broken links, staging artifacts, noindex tags), and producing stakeholder documents including a VC-presentation Word doc and a PowerPoint preview deck for university leadership.
